Jeetendra Kumar is a connoisseur of dance and the dearest disciple of Guru Padma Shri Amala Shankar, Padma Shri Mamta Shankar, and Biswabandhu. He began his artistic journey as a folk dancer and later received formal training in Bharatanatyam and creative dance. A graded artist of Doordarshan, he was awarded both a scholarship and a fellowship in folk dance by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. He also serves as a contractual artist with the Song and Drama Division, Government of India.
Renowned for his creative dance compositions, Jeetendra Kumar has performed extensively across India and abroad, earning widespread acclaim for his innovative work. He is also admired by the Prime Minister of Mauritius for his outstanding contribution to the cultural exchange through dance. A theatre artist since childhood, he is equally recognized for his exceptional organizational skills.
His talent and contributions in the field of folk dance have been acknowledged by both the Government of Bihar and the Government of India, who honored him with the Amrapali Yuva Puraskar and the prestigious Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar.
Graded Bharatnatyam Artist | Performer | Scholar | Guru
Soma Mandal is an accomplished Bharatnatyam exponent from Paschim Medinipur, West Bengal, recognized as a Graded Artist by both EZCC (Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre) and Doordarshan. She holds a Master’s degree in Bharatnatyam from The Tamil University, Tamil Nadu, and has qualified for the prestigious UGC-NET-JRF in Performing Arts. She is currently pursuing her research as a scholar at Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Darbhanga, Bihar.
Renowned for her commanding stage presence and depth of expression, Soma has performed extensively at national and international platforms, contributing to the global promotion of Indian classical dance. Her artistic excellence has earned her numerous accolades including the Nritya Kala Vidushi, Kala Nistha, Bastar Gaurav Samman, Emerging Face of Mithila, Devdasi Nipun Nartaki, and Nritya Shiromani, among many others.
Dedicated to both performance and pedagogy, Soma Mandal continues to inspire the next generation of dancers through her art and scholarship.
